WILSON, N.C. – The Barton College men's basketball team will be auctioning off special jerseys on Wednesday night as the Bulldogs host the University of Mount Olive at 7:30 p.m. inside Wilson Gym. The jerseys will be worn by players during warmups and available to bid on during the game.
All proceeds from the jersey auction will benefit the Community Soup Kitchen of Wilson County, Inc. The Bulldogs have helped to serve breakfast on two separate occasions this season with the most recent coming on Dec. 15.
Fans that are interested in placing a bid during the game on Wednesday will be able to do so in the main lobby of Wilson Gym. In the event that bidders may not be present at the conclusion of the game, they will be asked to provide their contact information when bidding. Bidders do not need to be present at the end of the game to be eligible for their winning bid.
The Community Soup Kitchen of Wilson County, Inc. has been serving the community since 1983 and prepared and provides mid-day meals to anyone that may be hungry. The kitchen is located inside the Carriage House, which sits behind St. Timothy's Episcopal Church. CSKWC is operated solely by volunteers from the community and is open five days a week, year-round.
Questions regarding the auction and details on how to pay for and pick up the jerseys can be directed to Ron Lievense at (252) 399-6524.
