MILWAUKEE, Wis. – Barton College's Juan Martinez has signed a free agent deal with Major League Baseball's Milwaukee Brewers.

Martinez, a senior catcher and designated hitter from Weston, Fla., earned 2019 All-Conference Carolinas Second-Team honors after finishing the season with a team-leading eight home runs, 34 runs batted in and a .510 slugging percentage.

Martinez also batted .305 on the year with 29 runs scored, 46 hits and seven doubles while helping the Bulldogs (31-20, 17-9) finish second overall in the Conference Carolinas Regular Season Standings.  Martinez played in 49 games and made 45 starts as well.
