SANTA FE, N.M. – Barton College's Troy Maslowski has signed to play with the Santa Fe Fuego of the Pecos League this summer.  The Pecos League is an independent baseball league which operates in cities in the desert mountain regions throughout the states of California, New Mexico, Arizona, Kansas, Texas and Colorado.

Maslowski, a senior outfielder this year from Cary, N.C., started all 51 games in 2019 for the Bulldogs and finished with two home runs and 34 runs batted in to go along with 36 runs scored, six doubles and three triples.

A three-year starter, Maslowski earned All-Conference Carolinas honors in 2017 and 2018 and led Barton (31-20, 17-9) to a second-place finish in the league regular season standings this spring.

The Pecos League has two divisions – Mountain and Pacific – and its high-powered offenses are fueled by high altitudes and small ballparks.  The Pecos League has promoted 412 players to higher independent and affiliated teams from 2010 through 2018.  Santa Fe's first game of the season takes place on Thursday, May 30, against Alpine (Texas) Cowboys at 6:00 p.m., MST.
