WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Barton baseball team (15-8) picked up a 9-5 road victory over Winston-Salem State (10-6) Tuesday evening at BB&T park.

Barton senior outfielder Troy Maslowski (Cary, N.C.) finished with three hits including the game-winning, two-run double in the top of the second inning as the Bulldogs jumped out to a 6-1 lead and survived a Rams' surge to pick up the win.

Sophomore first baseman Colby Warren (Roanoke Rapids, N.C.) rounded out the scoring for the Bulldogs with a two-run triple in the eighth frame and freshman Connor Patterson (Randleman, N.C.) (1-1) earned the victory in relief.  Warren also ended the game by pitching two scoreless innings.

Winston-Salem State – which has lost six straight games after starting the year with a 10-0 record – was led by E.P. Reese (Lexington, N.C.) with two runs batted in but Eli Boles (King, N.C.) (1-1) was tagged with the loss.

Barton returns to Conference Carolinas play to face fourth-ranked Mount Olive on Friday at 5:00 p.m., in Mount Olive, N.C., while Winston-Salem faces Indiana (Pa.) on Saturday at 1:00 p.m., in a doubleheader in Asheboro, N.C.
