Barton lands 136 student-athletes on league’s fall 2017 presidential honor roll

HIGH POINT, N.C. – A total of 136 Barton College student-athletes have been named to the Conference Carolinas Presidential Honor Roll for the fall 2017 semester.

The honor roll recognizes those student-athletes who achieved a grade point average of 3.2 or higher on a 4.0 scale. A total of 2,294 awards were granted to student-athletes throughout the league’s 12 institutions.

Barton received a total of 142 awards, as six student-athletes were recognized while competing in multiple sports. The baseball team led the way in the total number of team members making the list, 16, followed by women’s soccer with 14.

Men’s and women’s tennis had the highest percentage of their rosters achieve the award, 86 percent, followed by women’s golf at 83 percent and women’s cross country at 80 percent. Overall, 11 of the 19 Barton programs (indoor and outdoor track were combined for this award) placed at least 50 percent of their roster on the honor roll.
