WILSON, N.C. – The Barton College men’s and women’s basketball teams will hold a charity fundraiser to support cancer patients in conjunction with its February 15 home game against University of Mount Olive.

All proceeds from the fundraiser will be donated to the McConnell-Raab Hope Lodge, a 20-suite facility in Greenville, N.C., which provides free housing for people going through cancer treatments. The lodge is a support service provided by the American Cancer Society.

“Cancer touches every family, and we hope that this fundraiser will make a small impact for families in this area,” said Barton men’s head coach Ron Lievense.

The fundraiser will center around the auction of a camouflage Barton College basketball shooting shirt. Fans will be able to bid on the shirt throughout the doubleheader against the Trojans.

Proceeds from a 50/50 drawing will also be given to the cause, and representatives from the Greenville chapter of the American Cancer Society will be on hand to provide information and accept donations as well.
