Barton track and field wraps up season strong at the Mount Olive Last Chance Qualifier

MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. – Several members of the Barton College men's and women's outdoor track and field teams finished the regular season on a high note this past weekend at the University of Mount Olive's Ray McDonald, Sr., Sports Complex.

Barton junior Micah Clemons (Greenville, N.C.) – the 2019 Conference Carolinas Men's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Year – hit a 189'9" in the men's hammer throw and took fourth place overall.  The mark currently ranks No. 31 in NCAA Division II.  Clemons also took eighth in the discus throw (140'3").

Barton junior Janae Cunningham (Hubert, N.C.) established a new school record in the women's hammer throw (146'2") - good for seventh - while sophomore Chianti Ghee (Fayetteville, N.C.) set a new personal mark in the men's hammer throw with a 155'10".  Ghee placed ninth in the event.  In the discus throws, Cunningham took eighth (108'6") while Ghee finished 10th overall with a 137'11".
