HIGH POINT, N.C. – Barton freshmen Jonathan York and Adalaya Nemitz have been named the Conference Carolinas Men's and Women's Swimmers of the Week, respectively. The Bulldogs sweep the weekly honors for the third time this year.
York, a native of Midlothian, Va., led the Bulldogs to a first-place finish this past weekend at Randolph-Macon's Yellow Jacket Invitational in Richmond, Va. York won the honor the first time on Wednesday, October 17.
York won two individual races – the 500-yard freestyle (school-record 4:41.24) and the 1,650-yard freestyle (new program-best 16:04.54) – and was part of three first-place relays: the 200-yard medley relay (1:35.39), the 400-yard medley relay (3:29.87) and the 800-yard freestyle relay (7:00.69). The 400-yard medley was a new school record for the Bulldogs.
